About this Meetup

HAPPY THIRD BIRTHDAY

TO THE LOST CAJUNS OF EAST TENNESSEE SOCIAL GROUP!

-founded pre-Katrina on November 16, 2004!

Enjoy some Louisiana music
as you read about us

http://www.geocities....

Welcome to East Tennessee!!
To ALL of you who hail from the Bayou State of LOUISIANA!

"Laissez les bons temps rouler"
in ~~Hill~~ Country!

We are a SOCIAL Group!
AAAAAYYYYYYEEEEEEEE!!!

Founded on November 16th, 2004
with 10 former LOUISIANA residents in attendance!

For years "Lost Cajuns" wandered the foothills of The Smoky Mountains,
aimlessly wondering where they could find a good CRAWFISH BOIL
and enjoy that boil with others who know how to PINCH the tails
& SUCK the heads!!!

One AMAZING DAY,
LSU
beat UT in the SEC National Football Championship!

All of the sudden, many "brave"LSU fans were seen around Orange Country
dressed in PURPLE & GOLD PRIDE!!!!

So, someone finally decided to see exactly how many people from HOME actually leave in these foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
And maybe, just maybe meet other souls
who have been cheering for THE SAINTS for the past 40 years too!!

Astoundingly, within the first six months, more than 100 LOUSIANA people were located living in and around the KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE area.

Thus, a wonderful, strange-talking, fun-loving, fast-thinking FAMILY of new EAST TENNESSEE friends was born!

And every single one of us "Knows What It Means To Miss New Orleans!"

WE HAVE DONE IT!
We have "found" our own little LOUISIANA neighborhood right here in the foothills of THE SMOKIES!

read this link to learn more:
http://press.meetup.c...

As of September 15th, 2006, more than 290 LOUISIANA FAMILIES
have joined our social group of family and friends!

Among those 290 families are former LOUISIANA residents from St. Bernard (a.k.a. "da Parish!"), Orleans, Jefferson, Acadiana, St. Mary Parish, etc, etc!

Bayou Towns such as Lake Charles, Lafayette, Amite, River Ridge, Gretna, Chalmete, New Iberia, Alexandra, Central, Lockport, Houma, Baton Rouge, Praireville, Kenner, Breaux Bridge, Monroe, Marksville, Hammond, Raceland, Luling, Meaux, Jeanerette, Morgan City, Slidell, Kaplan, and Westwego!

There is actually someone from every LOUISIANA PARISH
residing in EAST TENNESSEE!!

You may alread know someone; so don't be shy!

Over the past 32 months, we have held OVER 200 events!
Gumbo Cook-Offs, Mardi Gras 12th Night Gala's, Cajun Potluck, Saints Games, Cajun Dancing Classes, Catfish Fries, Good Friday Crawfish Boils, LSU Tailgate Parties, Bouree Games, Boomsday Fireworks, July 4th Picnics, Shrimp Boils, Christmas Eve Bonfires, and Hurricane Katrina Relief Events!

On May 15th, 2005, over 65 LOUISIANA Natives attended The First Annual Crawfish Boil
in Townsend, TN!

In May 2006, over 400 lbs of LIVE CRAWFISH were driven up I-59 from Chauvin, LA to our 2ND ANNUAL CRAWFISH BOIL. Over 120 members of our extended FAMILY patiently waited with newspaper on the tables, live music, and cold beer in hand!

On May 19th, 2007 we had our 3RD ANNUAL CRAWFISH BOIL!!!
1,000 lbs of live crawfish were driven up I-59 from Chauvin, LA! Over 200 members and guest were there!!!

We know how to make a roux and have a good time!
We hope you will join us!

Membership is open to all natives of the BAYOU STATE OF LOUISIANA not just CAJUNS!
(The founder is not a true-blooded Cajun!)

Your immediate family members are welcome to join as "adopted" members,
so bring them with you!

So, come one, come all who hail from LOUISIANA!
Bring over the RED BEANS & "THROW ME SOMETHIN' MISTER!!!"
AAAAAYYYYYYEEEEEEEE!!!

If you know what it means to miss NEW ORLEANS,
or if you stand when Jolie Blonde is played,
or if you celebrate FAT TUESDAY in costume...

And by ALL means, if you have been cheering for THE SAINTS for 40 YEARS, then this group is for you!

Join us and meet your extended family here in EAST TENNEESSEE!

You never know, someone in the group may be your 3rd cousin once removed!

After all, we're all related from down the Beyou anyway, right?
If not, bet we know your Mamaw Bourgeois, or your Uncle Duhon.

(If you have trouble registering on the site,
send an email to: lostcajuns@hotmail.com)

This is a SOCIAL CLUB
Membership is FREE

We pay as we go
We order off menus
& pay RSVP's in advance for our
Crawfish Boils, Boomsday, and Christmas Party Events!

Voluntary contributions are accepted to help
color the cost of this private website, banners,
fliers, cards, nametages, Mardi Gras beads, etc.

There are no dues and no president, etc.
...We left the "dirty politics" back in Louisiana!!

Our Motto: "Laissez lens bons temps rouler!"

Come early for Happy Hour at 6:00 P.M.
